SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Youth Special Projects, the Youth and Education Manager will oversee the implementation of Project Tipping Point, CRCD’s college success initiative to increase the number of current & former transition-aged foster youth obtaining their postsecondary degrees, and Jobs for Los Angeles Graduates program, CRCD’s K-12 success initiative to increase positive outcomes for out-of-school youth involved in the justice, child welfare and homeless services systems as well as in-school youth that face barriers to timely graduation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan the delivery of all CRCD Academy activities in accordance with the mission, goals, and 5- Year Strategic Plan of CRCD.
  • Directly supervises & coaches two or more Project Tipping Point College Navigators to ensure that high-touch case management & social-emotional development services are being provided to program participants.
  • Directly supervises & coaches two or more JAG Specialists to implement JLAG out-of-school and in-school program models.
  • Work collaboratively with the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator and other key recruitment partners to meet annual enrollment goals for PTP and JAG programs.
  • Oversee implementation of high-touch, trauma-informed case management approach by PTP and JAG direct service staff.
  • Leads curriculum development process & ensures the implementation of validated assessment tools to measure students’ mastery of skills and growth.
  • Liaison to LATTC and in-school partners for daily coordination & ensures partners have a high level of confidence in CRCD’s ability to follow-through & execute PTP and JLAG programs.
  • Builds and maintain relationships with multiple entities on LATTC campus & South LA in-school partners to support student success.
  • Oversees the PTP and JLAG program’s support service policies, including tracking the provision of transportation support & other needs-based stipends.
  • Ensures PTP and JLAG program’s logistical needs are met (e.g., supplies, space).
  • Ensures the timely entry of data into Salesforce and eNDMS systems; reviews weekly attendance, progress indicators, & outcomes to ensure program is meeting benchmarks.
  • Ensure that the programs operate within the approved budget and monitor expenses on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures daily program operations are “systematized,” consistent, and are of high quality.
  • Represents CRCD in key external stakeholder collaboratives & work with external technical assistance coaches to integrate evidence-informed practices into programming.
  • Supports with writing reports to funders & partners.
  • Maintains work plan for self & team aligned with program goals.
  • Ensures PTP and JLAG program activities maintain fidelity to target population, dosage & duration outlined in the program model.
  • Ensure that Program activities operate within CRCD’S policies & procedures.
  • Ensure that Program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled WDD Leadership Team meetings, WDD Team Meetings, partner meetings and funder meetings as needed.
  • Follow CRCD/LATTC procedures regarding recordkeeping, documentation, confidentiality, and the maintenance of student files.
  • Provides direct support to students via interventions to mitigate barriers or de-escalate conflict/crisis as necessary; reviews all incident reports & oversees the separation/dismissal process

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience in related work and BA Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience with the child-welfare and/or justice systems.
  • Experience within the K-12 Highschool and/or community college systems.
  • Reliable, flexible team player who works well with minimal supervision, who has a good work ethic, and an ability to set and maintain personal boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources.
  • Reliable transportation: valid driver’s license, and car insurance as required by law, as appropriate.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
