Celebrating 20 years of IMPACT!

Honoring our roots and transforming momentum into opportunity
In 2005, one contract to provide graffiti abatement launched CRCD’s mission: to sustain, coordinate, and improve local planning, development, and community services that address the needs of low-income and working-class residents and small businesses in South Los Angeles. Since its founding, CRCD has been steadfast in building an ecosystem for lasting impact.
CRCD’s ecosystem includes three entities driving real investment and community empowerment in South LA: Our nonprofit advances impact pathways to community vitality; CRCD Enterprises builds career pathways to economic prosperity; and CRCD Partners delivers housing pathways to safe, stable futures.
Together, our ecosystem leverages and multiplies resources, drives scalable solutions, and catalyzes systemic change for long-term transformation and a better quality of life for all who call South LA home.
Today, South LA stands at the center of profound change. This is a defining moment where investments can shape the trajectory of South LA for the next 20 years.

Zion’s Journey from Homelessness to Aspiring Barber
Zion Hill has been a resident of La Prensa Libra Apartments since July 3, 2024, after experiencing homelessness and staying at the Tiny Home Village in Echo Park Lake since November 2023. During thins time, he worked closely with his CRCD ICMIS case manager to secure housing and address personal challenges. Since obtaining stable housing, Zion has developed social and life skills, gaining access to health services, benefits, and educational opportunities that were previous difficult to access while unhoused. With the support of CRCD Housing and Support Services, he has maintained his housing and pursued his goals, including exploring employment opportunities and working toward a barber certification through the Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center. Zion is grateful for the ongoing guidance from his case manager and the resources provided by the program, which have been vital to his success.
