South LA is Home Culmination
We are proud to celebrate the successful culmination of the third cohort of the South LA Is Home Faith-Based Capacity Building Series, which launched in June 2026.
Throughout this series, faith-based leaders from across South Los Angeles strengthened their knowledge and skills around affordable housing and real estate development, exploring topics including design and planning, project financing, strategic partnerships, and community-centered development.
Participants also had the opportunity to connect with experienced architects who provided site analysis and assessments to help advance their projects, strengthen their organizational capacity, and bring their community visions closer to reality.
We are honored to celebrate this cohort of faith-based leaders:

Black Cultural District Connects with Regional Cultural Leaders
The Historic South Los Angeles Black Cultural District continues to build momentum through participation in the Cultural Districts Network, a collaborative of cultural districts, arts leaders, community organizations, and public agencies working to preserve and celebrate the unique histories and identities of neighborhoods across Los Angeles County. The network provides a space for cultural districts to share lessons, explore common challenges, and advance strategies that support cultural preservation, community engagement, and equitable economic development. Participants include representatives from established and emerging cultural districts representing diverse communities throughout the region.
As California’s first officially designated Black Cultural District, Historic South Los Angeles represents a major milestone in recognizing and preserving the cultural legacy, creativity, and contributions of Black communities in Los Angeles. Ongoing collaboration through the Cultural Districts Network helps strengthen connections among cultural leaders while advancing efforts to ensure that community history, arts, and cultural assets remain visible, celebrated, and protected for future generations.
